He studied at the National College of Art under Maurice MacGonigal and Seán Keating. By 1970 he was working full-time as an artist, exhibiting with Combridge’s, the Lavelle Gallery, and the Kenny Gallery in Galway. A later retrospective at the Kenny Gallery celebrated both his early and mature works.
