Further labels relate to the Artists' International Association Gallery at 15 Lisle Street, London WC2, including its Travelling and Hire Exhibition scheme.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eAbout the Artist\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMorris Kestelman RA was born in Whitechapel, East London, in 1905 to Jewish immigrant parents from Russia. He won a scholarship to the Central School of Art and Design in 1922, where his teachers included Bernard Meninsky, before studying at the Royal College of Art from 1925 to 1929.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKestelman also worked as a stage designer for Sadler's Wells and the Old Vic. During the Second World War he served as an air-raid warden, and a drawing he made at an aircraft factory was purchased by the War Artists Advisory Committee and is now held by the Imperial War Museum.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe later became Head of the Painting and Sculpture School at the Central School of Art and Design, a post he held from 1951 to 1971.
