Description

A striking and atmospheric original oil painting by George Kosinski depicting mallards sweeping down across a misty marshland scene. The composition beautifully captures the movement of the birds in flight, with expressive brushwork and soft muted tones creating both energy and tranquillity. This highly decorative wildlife painting has strong country house appeal and is presented in an attractive gilt frame ready to hang. The dramatic composition and painterly handling make it an excellent piece for collectors of British wildlife art, sporting subjects, or traditional interiors.

About the Artist

George Kosinski was born in Scotland in 1952 to Polish refugee parents and was raised near Millom on the Cumbrian coast beside the Lake District. He studied architecture at Manchester University between 1971 and 1979 before practising as an architect in Ulverston, Cumbria from 1980 to 1991. In 1991 he became a full-time artist and later travelled extensively throughout the Middle East, experiences which strongly influenced his atmospheric use of light and colour. He subsequently lived and painted in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Kosinski’s work is recognised for its expressive brushwork, painterly movement and strong sense of place, combining the compositional discipline of an architect with the atmosphere of impressionist landscape painting.
