About the Artist
Gwynne Robins is a highly regarded painter based in Oxfordshire, where he has worked for over 30 years. A trained artist from Sunningwell School of Art, just outside Abingdon, Robins has developed a distinctive impasto impressionist style, producing richly layered oil paintings that celebrate movement, narrative, and vibrant texture. His subject matter is diverse and compelling — ranging from iconic Oxford landmarks to equestrian scenes, musical and theatrical figures, and literary themes. Whether depicting dancers, riverscapes, or historic architecture, Robins captures the mood and energy of his subjects with expressive brushwork and powerful use of colour.
