About the Artist
James Tweedie (born 1951) is a respected British painter known for works that merge observed reality with surreal and psychological elements. Largely self-taught, he has exhibited extensively throughout the UK and Europe. Tweedie is a recipient of several notable awards, including the Maude Gemmell Hutchison Prize and the Scottish Arts Club Award from the Royal Scottish Academy. He was elected a member of the Royal Glasgow Institute (RGI) in 2016.
