Description

A atmospheric and impressionistic Highland landscape by Peter S. Buchanan, depicting workers gathering hay beneath Scottish skies. The expressive brushwork and soft tonal handling give the work a lively, light filled quality that sits comfortably within the late Victorian move toward impressionistic naturalism.

Cabinet sized and highly decorative, this is a recorded example of Buchanan’s titled, previously appearing at auction in December 1998.
