About the Artist
Born in Dukinfield, Lancashire in 1956, Simeon Stafford grew up immersed in the industrial landscapes that inspired Northern artists such as L.S. Lowry, whom Stafford knew personally and who became a family friend and mentor. Stafford’s joyful scenes fuse Northern School tradition with vivid colour, humour and imaginative character. He is a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts and has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, with works held in major collections worldwide including those of Queen Elizabeth II and former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
