Description
A striking and highly atmospheric original oil painting by Simon Garden, titled “Basket”. This compelling work features one of the artist’s hallmark solitary figures, bending toward a basket of gathered fruit, surrounded by golden woodland tones and falling leaves. The composition draws the viewer into a quiet, contemplative moment, rich with symbolism and narrative suggestion.
Garden’s distinctive style—often described as faintly surreal, familiar yet dreamlike—is evident in the textured impasto surface and earthy palette. The painting carries a strong visual presence and emotional depth, making it a standout piece within any collection.
This example is particularly appealing in both subject and scale, comparable to works exhibited in leading galleries, yet offered here at a significantly more accessible level.
